TERRIFYINGLY TOXIC FACE SLUDGE!?
NO WAY!
Going GREEN for Halloween!
Monave is one of my all time favorite companies. So it comes as no surprise that I would reach for old trusty Monave makeup to create some ghoulish fun for the Holiday!
Why use scary toxic chemicals that not only don't last all night, but clog your pores with toxic waxes and JUNK?!
Here are some ideas that you can modify and use your own creative little monster imaginations with. I created a cat, mermaid and a steampunk look. If you are not into these or are looking for super simple, or kid friendly looks, be sure to head over to grab these Gluten free and vegan natural face paints from Monave! http://www.monave.com/kids-corner/
First I created this cat look inspired by an Abyssinian face. My parents own one and she is, hands down, the loviest cat.
Now, you can use blacks and greys to create a smokey cat effect or add spots and use golds for a wild cat look. Make it your own! Be sure to share you look on Instagram with me #supernaturalegirl!
Cat/Lion/Wildcat Face prep:
I first prepped my Face with a dusting of the Monave Serecite Powder. It fills in pores and actually can give you a smoother, more even canvas to work with.
I took a foundation 1-2 shades LIGHTER and 3-4 shades DARKER than my skintone and applied as you see here:
I then used a large fluffy foundation brush and used light circular motions to blend it all in.
I then took my Monave Bronzer in #310 and reapplied it to the darker areas to really add some POP and dimension to them. I also added the very light foundation in Claire with the Serecite , to whiten the highlighted areas around the eyes and mouth.
Eyes:
Now in this step you can really get creative and play up your eyes. After all, it's a cat look. Add some lashes, sparkles, rhinestones, tons of liner, whatever your feline heart desires.
I used the Monave Cream 2 Powder in Brown and warmed it up with my finger and smudged it over my lid and slightly into the crease. I outlined the nose with a fine pointed brush, and dotted on the whisper holes onto my lip, as well as created whisker lines.
I took a dense flat eyeshadow brush and packed on the # 70 shadow color. I followed it up with a cat eye liner in Cream 2 powder Black.
Nose:
The nose was a basic triangular shape that I filled in using Monave's blush in #218 mixed with a light foundation powder shade. It gave me the PURRRfect pink for my kitty nose!
Like the title states below, you can again, get really creative here and add your own touches and creativity! You can use various shades of greens to make an out-of-this world alien look, or a variety of pinks, sparkles and purples for a girlier mermaid look. Or, you could simply do this semi-dark evil mermaid lady I did here.
Mermaid/Alien/Fearie/Nymph Face prep:
I began once again by lightly dusting the pretty-making Serecite powder all over. This helps hold onto my makeup and keeps it smooth. I used shadow #89 which is a lovely Grey-green iridescent color. I used a contour brush and contoured the forehead area almost in the shape of an "M". I continued to buff and dust the color down into the hollows of my cheekbones as well.
Scales:
Here I simply created just a shape for scales using a dense, finer pointed shadow brush. I used the GORGEOUS shimmery deep green shade "Tourmaline". I then used shadow #66 to add a purple iridescence to them in the light. I took #66 and lightly used a fluffy eyeshadow brush to dust over the scales, creating more dimension. You could skip this if you like.
Eyes:
Tourmaline was used once again here to fill in my brows to a deep green color, it makes this look severe. If you want to cute it up or not be an evil something, skip this part as it is harsh looking.
I also patted Tourmaline onto my lids and used #89 to blend them up to my brown bone from the crease. This gave an EVIL smokey effect.
I then, of course, followed it up with the cream 2 powder black as my liner on my lid and in the waterline.
LIP:
I did two looks for you here to show you just how versatile-reptile this look really is. You can do a dark gradient lip. I used pink and purple here. You could do a black and deep red etc.
I put foundation over my lips to prime them, them patted
# 66 purple into the corners of my lips using a fine dense brush. I patted the pink blush in #218 into the center parts of my lips as well. I then used a clean, brush and blended the edges in together only slightly.
I also tried a less dark look by using a lovely nude lip that was a GREAT contrast to the greens. This nude was in #158 and it is by far one of my most favorite Monave products to date!
Be sure to add FLARE and PIZZAZ and be UNIQUE!

STEAMUNK GIRL:
With this look, I honestly just winged it last minute. I prepped my face like the other looks and used the black and brown cream to powders for the smokey looking parts around the gear and the outlinings. I filled in the gears with some of these colors and added gold touches to them:
*Face Illuminator(pinky gold color)
*Gold shadow in #34
*Mineral Blush #70
*eyeshadow in "chiffon"
Please make this your own and just use this as a guideline and be sure to share your looks with me!
